Chess Teacher is perfect for those who are new to the game

Chess Teacher

The game of Chess is one known to be a bit tricky. There are lots of different pieces, all with their own movements and ways about them. This barrier to entry is something that everyone struggles with, especially when new to the game. Kai has been particularly interested in Chess, as his friend plays quite a bit of it, and even joined an after school club, but the rest of us aren’t as knowledgeable in the game. When we got Chess Teacher, we knew it would help both us remember the movements and Amelia learn to play without hesitating as much.

Chess Teacher isn’t some sort of app or something, it’s actually just a Chess board, that is slightly modified to help beginners understand the game better. Chess Teacher has all of the basic chess pieces, however, on their base there is a little diagram which shows who they are and how they move. These diagrams make sense, especially as when you are viewing them, they show the movement from that space. They are easy to remember and use, and provide a visual clue as to how the pieces move. Apart from the diagrams on the base, this is otherwise a normal Chess board.

The pieces are quite simply made of plastic, they aren’t heavy like some of the other Chess sets on the market, and the board is a simple blue tiled board, that folds out. It’s an easy set for the children to set up on their own and play without any help. With the added diagrams, it is easy to tell how many spaces a piece can move, and in what way, which really helps the learning process. It also really helps whoever is teaching the other person, as they have something to reference to help make their point. Though Kai does seem to be great at actually beating other children at Chess, he isn’t the best at explaining things, so these little nudges have helped a lot with Amelia!

Looks great. Chess is wonderful for strategic thinking but not an easy board game to learn so having this to teach children is excellent.

I got my granddaughter a chess teaching set (she’s almost 3) and also got one of my grown children a beautiful chess set. It’s just a game that we never, never outgrow!

Our little boy would love to lean this, he is very clever and has taught himself so many things, especially science and maths, he is a little genius and at 10 knows far more than we do. He would love this

This game looks perfect for my daughter, we love board games and use them in our learning. This is one we both want to learn

Looks like a great board game. I’d love to teach my kids chess so we could play together. Mummy doesn’t do it right apparently lol
