Brick or Treat Legoland Event 2022

We go to Legoland often and have for several years. Though we have never gone to Legoland for any of their special events before, we did end up hopping along, by mistake, for one of their 90th anniversary events and got to make some cool Lego designs that then allowed us to collect pop badges. These badges were really cool, and hung on our children’s wall, reminding them about Legoland and all of our adventures.

So, we went back for the Brick or Treat event at Legoland, which saw the park transformed into a Halloween wonderland, full of decorations and new spooks. We were actually able to see the vast majority of the Halloween things; taking pictures with the various spooky characters like Lord Drack, finding giant Lego heads, and riding our favourite rides. There are also a large number of limited time events around the park that we, of course, checked out.

4D Cinema Halloween Movie

We made time to go to the 4D Cinema this time, after having never been to one in Legoland. This cinema really blew all of our minds! The special Halloween movie actually had a lot going on with it. The movie took place inside the park we were in, with some Lego children trying to sneak into the Monster Bash. This is a monster only party, including a full band! This band actually one that is currently playing in the park, that you can visit when you go! All of the new additions to the park are inside the movie as well, which was really cool to see. The movie had no actual words or talking, but instead made noises, sound effects and had music, which was interesting. The show is a 4D Movie, which means there is a lot more than just a 3D movie. There was a warning about real live fire, which I didn’t think was a real warning, but no, the stage lit up with fire like three times! And water spit at us at specific points in the show, making it really come to life. There was also bubbles and fog, and a mix of fog bubbles that ended up appearing on the stage. It was a really enhanced and fun movie, well worth checking out! Kai was super impressed with the fire aspects of the show and all three of them had an amazing time literally popping the fog bubbles!

Mini World Decorations

As apart of the Halloween update of the park, the mini-world section of Legoland has actually been decorated with miniature Halloween decorations, as well as a bunch of hidden letters that spell out a word, which can be turned in for a Halloween Pop Badge. These little miniature world decorations also mimic what’s going on in the park, with some of the Halloween characters you can take pictures with appearing around. It’s fun spotting them among all of the different buildings, and finding the letters to make up the secret Halloween word. It is just so adorable!

Brick or Treat Trail

A new area is actually open in the park, which allows children to do a trick or treat monster trail. It’s actually a really neat idea; especially as we love trick or treating. This area is set up as a little trail, where you can first take pictures around a bunch of Halloween themed cardboard cut outs, before getting to the front of the queue. Five families enter this area at once, going around to the little houses and saying Trick or Treat to the various people inside. You do get a bag for each of your children to Trick or Treat with, getting a candy (though they have sugar free fruit snacks instead), an exclusive pop badge and then a little bag of Halloween Lego. In between these main houses, there was various small, cut out houses that had a big button on the outside. Robin really loved pressing these buttons, which then had the house saying different phrases as if the characters were there. It’s fun to do while waiting for the next person to be done trick or treating!

Monster Party Ride

We went on loads of rides in Legoland. There are just so many fun ones; from the new Mythica area to our favourite roller coaster in the castle at the back of the park. One of our absolute must rides is the Monster Party ride, which is highlighted for the spooky season of course. It’s a ride that doesn’t have a long queue, as it seats a lot of people at once, where you enter a haunted monster party! After a briefing video, you go onto the ride, which seems to spin the room upside down, due to some trick of the imagination. It’s a really fun ride for all ages and feels really fun to explore. There is a moment when the roof gets lit up with a bunch of different shapes, and these seem to have changed from the last time we have been to the ride, adding more spooks!

Characters and Photo Opps

As mentioned before, there are five different characters you can meet around the park, at select times. We got the chance to find Frankenstein at the start of the park, getting a nice picture with him. Lord Drack was also outside the Monster Party ride, which makes sense as it’s his party! Lord Drack was an amazing actor – he had a good time pretending to be afraid of Kai, which brought a lot of joy to our children. Along with these characters, there were also lots of decorations that made for good photo opportunities. Giant pumpkin heads and skeleton heads are at two locations on the map, which tell jokes when you go near them. These heads also can be found in the fish tank photo areas of the underwater ride, which is super fun as well! Big Brick or Treat signs are around the park, and various other smaller decorations can be seen too, which feel really fun for the holidays.

As always, we enjoyed our time at Legoland for Halloween, and found it to be a really lovely experience!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
