We have gone to a number of time-limited events at Legoland Windsor; their Brick or Treat event, Firework Spectacular, Christmas event, and even their newly opened mini-golf. So, when Dann heard about the Lego Festival happening, as a sort of spring fest, he figured it would be a good time to visit! We have a bunch of favorite rides we enjoy going on, and found that having these new activities to sprinkle throughout the day rounded things out. Once we entered, we went up to the large main stage and grabbed our lanyards, which had a bunch of little pages on them, to tell you about various Lego-related experiences like Fortnight and even their golf course.

We then went over to the new photo area, took a look at it, and started our way down the path. Lego Festival added some blooms to a lot of the statues that you can find, along with bunting that had new logos and fun icons on it. I do like the general vibe of these changes – everything felt refreshed, bright and colorful. It wasn’t long until we were at the miniland area, which we always like exploring around. In this area, there are also a little stand selling a few exclusives for the event. We grabbed some Lego Festival churros, which had white chocolate, rainbow sprinkles, and blue sprinkles! We also grabbed a mocktail, which now comes with a choice of six edible straws. The churros were very fun and the edible straws, though not that delicious, were fun.

We then went into the Brick and built a little figure to earn our Pop Badge. This badge wasn’t to do with the event itself, but it’s something we always do, especially as Robin wears all of her pop badges along with her older anniversary lanyard. We have some really special ones, so were excited to add to it. Right next to the Brick was our first Lego Festival stop. This area had a decorate a cookie for an additional price, along with rainbow popcorn in a special popcorn bucket – very Disneyland vibes. There was also an area which had white building structures on it, where you can then add in something colorful and silly. Adding your own work of art grants you a stamp. We did that and moved to the next place, which had a giant wall that everyone was helping build. Each person got a tile and a map of what single Lego bricks to place on it, a sort of color by number, and then all these came together to make a giant picture. This was the dance area, and we were relieved to not have to dance to earn the stamp. There was plenty of space in this area as well as a stage where Lego talks were taking place.

Our next stop, as we followed forward, took us to another stage and another build project; this time all about gaming. Lego Festival aimed at highlighting a lot of the Lego brands, so we were able to see Fortnight specific builds, watch talks on developing for Fortnight, and build on another one of those large white structures. You could also build sushi instead and get the stamp that way, which felt very fitting as there was a bit of a space limit here. The next area of Lego Fest took us over to the stage in the Lego Friends world. There was a special show going on, which is always fun to see, and then we were able to create a tile back stage pass to gain another stamp. This area was directly across from the Chill Out Zone, another area, where you could build with Lego Botanicals, which were also on display. The botanicals were then added to a large wall, gaining the final stamp. All of this took us over two hours, between exploring and doing activities, which added a lot of fun.

We then spent the rest of the day exploring our favorite rides, getting wet on the log flume, going into the Haunted Mansion, and otherwise hanging out together. At the end, Kai was a little tired and speculated at going to some older kid amusement parks, while Amelia and Robin talked about some of the other events and compared them. We handed in our stamps at the beginning and were surprised to find that there was no special pop badge for this event; instead two bags of sweets and a gift voucher for some Lego at the store was the prize. We are big fans of pop badges, so were a bit surprised, but had a fantastic find anyway.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
I have not been to Legoland since my kids were younger. My son takes his kids there and I am hoping to visit with them one day as does seem a lot of fun
Nothing is more fun than LEGO. I mean, I honestly can’t think of anything better than this.
My kids would lose their minds at this festival! We have been to the Legoland in Florida and we had a wonderful time! They are almost grown and they still ask for Legos for Christmas.
