Now, I am not a huge thin pancake fan, as an American I tend to go for more fluffy ones. But, My Old Dutch Pancake House has these massive, crepe-like pancakes that can come with a ton of different toppings! When hanging out with a friend of mine in London, we decided to try it out. The inside of My Old Dutch Pancake House does look like someplace that would be very Instagramable, with fake flowers hanging from the ceiling and neon signs.
Some Like it Hot
We both got the 15 inch pancakes, which are giant crepes, as they had so many different ones to choose from. My Old Dutch Pancake House does have classic, smaller pancakes (made with buttermilk) for those that like them. I got the Some Like it Hot which is a massive pancake, with cheese, onions, spicy peppers, and chicken tenders on it. It almost felt like a giant pizza without the sauce! I found the chicken itself to be a little basic and I do wish there was some sort of sauce – maybe a chili oil or the like – to put over it. But, this was a very fun dish.
My Old Dutch
Gary got the My Old Dutch pancake, which had bacon, chicken, ham, mixed peppers, mushrooms, corn and cheese – a huge amount of different stuff! The bacon was nice and crispy, and there was clearly a lot of different toppings. This felt sort of like an English breakfast all inside a giant pancake, which is a wild thing to have!
Gary also got a vegan milkshake, that was chocolate with pistachio syrup in it too, very on trend. I had some pineapple juice, which is some of my favorite. My Old Dutch Pancake House was just a lovely little place to have some unique feeling breakfast.
