In our hopes to make the most of the spooky, Halloween vibe that’s in the air, we have been looking for new local festivals to attend, and came across Land of the Dead! Land of the Dead is a festival that has a few different aspects to it; a pumpkin patch, a circus, few rides, food stands and some decorated houses that feel like a little village to explore. We had never been before and didn’t really know what to expect, so were happy to explore!
[Ad- gifted experience] Cattows Halloween Farm is a massive pumpkin farm that we had gone to last year, to check out the fair rides and all of the pumpkins too. This year, they have a new event under the name Cattows Halloween Farm After Dark. It’s an after hours, illuminated event that brings Halloween to an entirely new level, as there is so many bright lights and spooky haunts for the whole family to enjoy.
Cattows Halloween Farm After Dark is massive! We entered through a large tent, full of Halloween decorations, and are greeted by the fairgrounds. These fairground rides do cost per ride, with no wristband option, but are quite reasonable in price per ride. Amelia and Kai were a bit too big for a few of the rides, but still found some really fun ones to go on. The fair is in the middle of the grounds, with the food trucks being at the back end of the area. This food village only had a few food stalls open, but you could get your classic burgers, fries, nuggets, donuts, etc from them.
Pretty Suds has arrived this month, with a change of packaging and a pretty fun theme. We are looking at our Circus themed box for July of 2021. These bath bombs, as always, are a really big size, made in Yorkshire, and now are more sustainable – but we will talk about my feelings on the new packaging at the end of this. I was really excited for the Circus themed box, as I really love the circus and have been quite recently. There are also so many different ideas as to what circus bath bombs could look like. We returned to Marsh Farm, where we had previously gone to pick pumpkins, for their annual Halloween Festival – an impressive event which has a lot more going on than any of us expected.
Even though the days seem to be getting shorter, and the temperature keeps dropping, it’s more important than ever to make sure that you get out of the house when you can. We’d already travelled to pick pumpkins at Marsh Farm’s impressive Pumpkin Village earlier in the month, and while there we noticed that there was actually much more to the place than a village shop and extremely well laid-out and decorated pumpkin patch. We spotted an entryway reminiscent of theme park booths, and what looked like a carousel. We had to go back and see the whole thing – so we set a day aside and headed there on a quiet Sunday.
