We’ve done a few escape rooms at The Panic Room Harlow, including Sherlock Holmes and Return to the Tomb. Eventually, we will have played them all! On a slow Sunday, we decided to go to The Panic Room to play the original escape room, also called The Panic Room, but it’s got the sub name of The UFO Conspiracy as that is what it is all about. Robin was especially excited about this escape room, as it’s the first and we should have probably started there. Amelia and Kai were very interested in the room and wondered if it would have been updated or if it had changed over time.
The UFO Conspiracy Escape Room felt very good. We had the lovely host Jess, who was dressed up as an FBI agent, looking to give us a mission. We had entered the room of a ex-government agent who is trying to find some hidden government secret – but when we arrive, he is dead! We now need to find the proof that he was keeping in his house and figure out who exactly killed him.
This escape room starts off as his living room, but we did unlock more rooms and explore, which felt very good in size. There was plenty of locks, specifically, in this room – and some of them like directional locks – were ones we have not used in a long while! Hints for The UFO Conspiracy were shown on a screen in the living room, along with bits of the story once we hit major points. They sounded like they were recorded by the dead ex-agent, which encouraged us to move on. We found the puzzles to be medium in difficulty, and Jess provided us with hints whenever we asked! There was plenty for Amelia, Robin, and Kai to solve, with Kai and Dann being big on the map-based puzzles. We can see why this was the first escape room at Panic Room Harlow.
