When it comes to Halloween time, I really love the idea of having special Halloween bath bombs! I love themes and feel Halloween should leak into every aspect of my day to day life, including, of course, self care time. This year’s Pretty Suds bath bomb box has some really lovely bombs – all of them are so big and so good at fitting the spooky theme. Unlike some of Pretty Suds previous boxes, the New Moon box does not have names for their bombs, so I have made these up. Let’s get into the box.
Cherry Skull & Skeleton Head
The cherry skull bath bomb is one of the coolest designs I have seen. I never have heard of or thought of skull berries, and these ones are just perfectly done for Halloween. They are a sour cherry (of course, how fitting) scent, with cardamom, white pepper and bergamont. These cherries also have a subtle scent of amber, labdanum and chasmere wood. I really enjoy the smell, it’s a bit fruity, but so much more complex than that. This bomb (like most in the box) also has shimmer on it, in both green and red. The Skeleton Head is grey and red, with shimmer as well on the grey bits. It’s a amber, vanilla and patchouli scent, with some undertones of rose, jasmine, lilac, blood orange and grapefruit. Those are a lot of notes! When smelling this bomb, it’s quite subtle.
Demon Head & Jack-o-lantern
The giant green demon head, with a stripe of grey in the middle, has such vivid detailing on the face! This bomb also includes green shimmer throughout. The Demon Head is scented with neroli blossoms, violet, muguet, cedar and sandalwood, with undertones of amber, vanilla, and musk. It is a more musky scent, between the different wooden scents and the musk undertone. The Jack-o-lantern is another really lovely looking bomb, with an evil pumpkin face. The whole thing is full of shimmer as well! This bomb, as soon as I opened the packaging I could smell it! It’s a pumpkin spice latte – full of notes of cinnamon and coffee, with sugary undertones, along with nutmeg and ginger. It literally smells like a pumpkin spice coffee.
Spider Web
My favorite bomb of the box was the Spider Web! This colorful bomb is purple and blue with gold splashes, lots of shimmer, and depicts a spider hanging out in a massive web. The scents are treacle, madagascar vanilla, spice and musk, which makes for a really interesting scent that I quite enjoyed.
This bath bomb box came with the traditional print out, to tell you more about these bombs – which is great as my last box used the QR code method, but the code had expired before I was able to open and use my box. These bombs did not use plastic packaging, and instead were in little paper bags, with stickers showing who in the company made each of them. These stickers were Halloween themed too – which was a cute touch. I am really happy with this Halloween box! What a lovely way to relax.
