Breakfast at Scrappy’s Diner

One morning while visiting my family, my sister planned on going to Scrappy’s Diner for breakfast, and I tagged along! I remember going out for breakfast here when I was in my last year of high school, so it was neat to return back. Scrappy’s Diner is very much a classic American dinner, with booth seating, a little bar where you can sit on your own, and a lot of classic breakfast and lunch dishes. We went before lunch started to be served (though breakfast is served all day) as our goal was to have something for breakfast.

Lemon-filled French Toast with Home Fries

Now, there were some interesting French toast options, as they had a selection of stuffed French toast. I went with the lemon filled French toast, which had a custard-like lemon filling along with a more jelly-like lemon filling. This wasn’t quite stuffed, but instead was pressed between two slices of toast. It was very sweet and very delicious, feeling like a new twist on something I’ve had before. This came with home fries, which I upgraded to have some peppers and onions. I also ordered a sausage patty, which is made in-house. This was crispy and super savory.

Southwestern Omelette

My sister went with a Southwestern Omelette, which had LOADS Of filling in it. I’m talking cheese, ham, peppers, onions… she said it was very good. This came with two slices of toast. She also got the home fries with peppers and onions, and a very big hot chocolate. It was a very filling breakfast with a lot of food!

We both enjoyed our time at Scrappy’s Diner. The server was very nice, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the food very much felt like home cooked meals you’d expect at an American diner.
