8 Easy Spooky Treats for Halloween

Updated: October 9th, 2021 to add more treats.

We have been cooking up a storm in our household – from healthy foods like soups to anything with pumpkin puree to sweet treats perfect for a party or packed lunch! I wanted to share some of the best, spooky, delicious treats for you to enjoy with your family. As we love to theme everything, it’s so fun to share these recipes with you, and I hope you do get to try some of them out! If you would like to watch me create some spooky lunches, fun breakfasts and more, I also have a TikTok where I create recipe videos!

Monster Wraps

Making a great and filling lunch, we created some of these monster wraps. The idea is simple – create a wrap of your choice, then cut some hair out of sliced cheese and make some eyes out of olives sliced up (though you could use red pepper to make eyes, if your not a fan of olives). We filled our wrap with red pepper hummus, cucumbers and slices of chicken, and then decorate them once they are rolled up. These impress so much in packed lunches!

Everything You Need before getting a Cat

[Ad- collab] When it comes to getting a cat for the first time, there is actually a lot you might need to consider and pick up before your furry friend comes to your home. Cats actually have a lot more personality then people tend to think – they each have likes, dislikes, and various needs that have to be considered before they are settled into your home and happily living among your family. We have two, very different, cats in our home – and have prepared for the two of them before they arrived, to ensure they have a lovely life. We hope this article helps you with your new cat.

The Obvious: Litterboxes and bowls

Afternoon Tea with Cats at Whiskers & Cream Cat Cafe

It’s no secret that everyone in this home really loves cats and kittens! Pancake, our own cat, is quite spoiled with toys, attention, and treats. There are quite a few cat cafes nearby, including London’s first ever cat cafe Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, but many of those have age restrictions. Because of Robin’s age, we decided to go out one day to the Whiskers & Cream cat cafe to hang out with some new cats while eating treats of our own. When booking to visit the cat cafe, you can either pay an admissions fee (which comes with a free drink) or book for afternoon tea, where there are a bunch of different menus for food options from vegan to children’s menus!

We choose to go for lunch, picking the normal afternoon tea for us adults and the children’s afternoon tea for the children, but let’s talk about the cats. There are 9 cats in Whiskers & Cream – and you are told about each of them. All of these cats have different personalities and like different toys. After being introduced to everyone (and having our food served) it was up to us if we wanted to snack or go play. The kids were able to talk to the staff to find out different cat’s favourite toys, before trying to play with them! Many of the cats were playful, Jasper being the biggest, loudest, and most excited cat.

Tomojo Cat Discovery Box | Review

All of my life, I have heard whisperings about someday having to eat bugs as the main source of protein. I’ve actually known a handful of people who used bug protein as a main part of their diet, but it is not something I have personally ever tried or even experimented with. When it comes to Pancake, our lovely cat, he already eats bugs! The little guy will chase, hunt down, and promptly eat any bug given to him, so when it comes to eating bugs, I’ve left it for him.

Tomojo is a new cat and dog food brand that has food completely made of bug protein. The reason behind this has to do with our environment – the production of their pet food uses fewer precious resources – less agricultural space and water, and there is less greenhouse gas production in the creation of this type of food, when compared to meat-based products. Their foods do not have any growth hormones or antibiotics either. As most of their make-up is made from bugs, there food is also grain free. It’s a great pet food brand if your cat has allergies or is intolerant to anything, as this food is made quite differently.
