Every month Amelia and I go to Sweet Designs by Jennie‘s cupcake class, often going to one of the newer designs! Jennie creates new designs monthly, with so many different ones to choose from. Amelia and I always have a fantastic time creating cupcakes, chatting with others, and learning new decorating techniques. As always, we showed up for our class and all of the cakes were already baked. Our fondant was set out, along with tons of tools, and we got right to it!

Harlow is going through this massive bout of revitalization, with lots of little projects being done all throughout the town in order to bring life back to things that have otherwise not been touched in a while. Before the end of the last year, a bunch of blue boarding walls have been put up across the back of Harlow Town Centre, to protect the walk from the anticipated destruction of the buildings behind the walls, which need to come down for re-building. Harlow then put on a Street Art Festival with the help of MurWalls LIVE to bring some color and fun to these boards, creating a real sense of community and life at the back of town.

Every month, Amelia and I go to a cupcake class! We’ve been doing this for well over a year (nearly two, I think!) and have not had a duplicate class yet. Sweet Designs by Jennie creates lots of new designs each month, however, the Flower and Lace Cupcake Class was a classic that we had not gotten around to getting to yet. It’s got a lot of fondant decorating, including creating little fondant flowers. Like all of the classes, Sweet Designs by Jennie has new tools and new techniques.

As previously mentioned, this year is the Year of Escape Rooms, so we are going to be trying out as many as we can. Last year, we went to Escape Hunt Lakeside for their Alice in Puzzeland room, which was pretty good, so we figured we’d try another one there. This time, we went for Blackbeard’s Treasure – which, you may have guessed, is a pirate-themed escape room.

Every month, Amelia and I go to a little cupcake decorating class, which is ran by Sweet Designs by Jennie! These classes follow different themes, many of which are new, and the latest (and current most popular one) is Highland Cows. Amelia and I were very excited by this new theme, as we both love sculpting in fondant and the cute designs were very interesting. We go together as a mother-daughter activity, which is so much fun, and we always end up with a bunch of lovely cakes to bring back home to the rest of our family to enjoy.
