Finding Colorful Lions at Lions on the Loose

In England, there are these sort of pop-up sculpture trails, where a charity will pick a specific animal and create loads of statues that appear all around an area. Previously, Dann and I checked out the Penguins by the seaside! This time, however, Lions on the Loose have come to our town as they are placed around Harlow, Essex and Loughton. There are over 64 lions to find, all of which have been adopted by local schools, businesses, and charities and then decorated. In our town centre alone, there are tons of them!

Mexican Food at Las Iguanas

[Ad- Gifted Experience] We’ve been to Las Iguanas quite a few times, as it’s a fantastic Mexican restaurant, and we love Mexican food! One of the great things about them is their loyalty app. This app often has freebies, exclusive offers, and changes to win different things! Often, there is some sort of cocktail feature (at the time that we went, you could take a little survey to know what new cocktail you’d be best likely to enjoy, and then get to try it for free). Kid’s eat free can also be found on the app, along with perks for limited time dishes, discounts on things like giftcards and more. It’s just a lovely way to get a bit of savings!

Fun in the Sun at Potter Street Fete 2026

This was our second year helping out with the Potter Street Fete, which this year was dedicated to Micky T, who was from Potter Street and had passed in the last year. This fete is an extremely local event, to Harlow, where members of the local community come together to hang out, enjoy the sunshine, and just be together. It’s lovely, full of community spirit, and put on by a bunch of locals who like seeing everyone enjoying the sun.

Fun at the Essex Summer Fest

[Ad- gifted experience] The Essex Summer Fest is a weekend festival, aimed at families, where you can enjoy music, fairground rides, a selection of different booths selling items, food stands, and several different stages full of activities and music! To make things even better, the Essex Summer Fest is organised by the local charity Mind in Havering, Barking and Dagenham – which is a charity all around mental health, and the money raised by this fest goes towards helping locals who are struggling with their mental health. It’s a very fun time for a very good cause.

Picking Strawberries and Cherries at Cammas Hall

Every year we go to Cammas Hall for strawberries! This time of year, Robin is always into peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, we always are craving fruit, and the fruit itself is ripe for the picking. Cammas Hall is our local farm, which we attend throughout the year for pumpkin picking and other seasonal events, so we were excited to head out and see how the strawberries have done this year.
