A Day Out Berry Picking at Cammas Hall

Fruit picking is something both Jupiter and I did as a kid – myself picking fruits near where I lived and Jupiter picking fruits both at orchards and in nearby woods. As summertime came, we wanted to take the family out berry picking both in the wild and at an orchard, so we went along to Cammas Hall! Cammas Hall has a lot to offer, from raspberry and blackberries to strawberries and sunflowers. We pre-booked our time slot, which does cost a deposit fee, but that fee goes towards the fruit we picked and it was easy to pick far more than the deposit price.

A Day Out at Mountfichet Castle

The summer holiday is in full swing, we all wanted to see a big castle! I am a big fan of history and I really love sharing my passions with my children. Kai and I had actually gone to Mountfichet Castle when he was younger and Amelia had spent weeks talking about how she wanted to go at the time, so this felt like a great time to take everyone. Mountfichet Castle has a lot going on – there is the castle and all of the animals around it, then there is a toy museum on the edge of the property, as well as a dinosaur area and a haunted house walk through the toy museum – it’s just a lot.

Brunch at The King’s Head | Review

[Ad- gifted experience] The King’s Head in Billericay, Essex have refurbished the interior and exterior, as well as extended their menu to include a very lovely brunch menu! The interior is stunning – beautifully presented tables, couches, a well-presented bar. All of the bar staff seemed really knowledgeable about the menu – and we were told after that they actually had a large menu tasting when it came to this brunch, so that they knew everything on this new menu. The look is pretty modern now, with a bright feel that you don’t often find inside pubs. The King’s Head felt modern and casual, and the dining experience was wonderful as well.

A Day Out at Pirate Cove Adventure Golf

After our first trip to Jurassic Falls Adventure Golf, the children have been itching to see the other themed golf parks around the area. The next one we took on was Pirate Cove. Pirate Cover Adventure Golf has a theme of, you guessed it, pirates and is dotted around with pirate facts and information. Jupiter really loves pirates, golf, and new golf courses, so we went along on a slightly soggy day to enjoy a bit of outdoor time before winter really hit.

Pirate Cover Adventure Golf was different from the previous golf experiences; first off, it had two different courses in it’s area. One, called Smugglers, was much more challenging while Pirate was an easier course. We went along the Pirate course, dipping into Smugglers when we saw a particularly cool looking hole that we couldn’t help but jump too. As we went towards the end of October, the place didn’t have many people there, and this was pretty easy to do (not to mention fun).

Mushroom Hunting in Epping Forest | Wild About Autumn Challenge

We’ve always make an effort to make our way to a forest at the start of each November, especially as this year we have Halloween pumpkins to drop off into the forest so that animals can munch on them as a tasty treat. Getting your used pumpkins out into a forest is a great way to feed some wildlife that’s probably out searching for food at this time of year, especially as there isn’t much left on the forest ground.
