Every month Amelia and I go along to a cupcake class hosted by Sweet Designs by Jennie, who keeps coming up with new designs! Amelia and I really love having a little time once a month, that’s just the two of us! But, for this class (and the next one) Amelia has invited along some friends as it’s nearing the end of the school year and we have such a packed summer. (Plus, Jennie is taking the summer off, so we wanted to get some extra cupcake designing in.) The Taste of Asian Cupcake Class is a new one, with designs all around slightly Asian themes.

We all very much liked the Taste of Asia cupcake class – with Amelia’s friend picking this one specifically from this month’s classes to go along with. The little bowl of noodles, tiny sushi, and mini-gyoza were all just so cute! I hope Sweet Designs by Jennie do more little food classes. We started off by making a bunch of our bases, so that they’d harden, before making the fan itself. This class was a lot of sculpting, which was so much fun.

We did set our bowl to harden on a mini-bowl and made a bunch of the little decorations and toppings for that cupcake. The long noodles in the noodle bowl were actually pipped in with buttercream, which was SO fun – Amelia’s favorite part. I liked punching out the blossoms for the blossom tree – mine came out so cute, and the sushi was really fun to roll and decorate.

I do like the amount of layers on the sushi! I didn’t really know what to write on my fortune cookie, which we sculpted out of fondant, but it was cute to design them. The Taste of Asia cupcake class, like all of the classes that Jennie hosts, feels like a lovely chat with friends. We all hung out, decorated our cakes, and just had a fantastic time. This was Amelia’s friend’s second class, which she very much enjoyed, and we plan on all going again after the summer is over.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
