A Day Out at The Pinball Office

The Pinball Office

Dann really enjoys going to pinball clubs and playing all of their beautiful tables! So, when one opened up quite local to where we live, Dann was super excited to go along! Claire actually arranged her birthday party at the venue The Pinball Office, which is very much like a diamond in the rough – a hidden pinball office that doesn’t seem like it would be there from the outside. But, the inside of the venue is wonderful. Clean machines, lots of variety, and it’s not too loud there at all!

The Pinball Office costs an entry price of £10, which includes 4 hours of play time on 32 machines, and includes parking right outside. This place is ran a bit differently than other pinball places we have been too, as the owner, Chris, is there with you. He owns the entire collection of machines that you are playing at, and is willing to talk to you about any of them. He keeps these machine in very good condition, they were so shiny, so clean, so well looked after.

The unit itself is split between two rooms, which is up an old fashion elevator, inside a building full of office units. One is completely filled with pinball machines – wall to wall. The other has a few machines, but also has a sitting area, a sign, and a drinks station. You can grab soda, coffee or tea as apart of your time there. You can also bring your own food and eat it in this area – and there is a sink to wash your hands before you get back to playing on the tables.

The Pinball Office has a few machines I have not seen before, like Diner, which is an older pinball machine that doesn’t even give you a bonus ball if it instantly is sunk down the middle. This machine also had a giant pinball on the top of it, which is so fun! Dann had a lot of fun with Getaway, which is pinball game about running away from the police, and Popeye is a really fun machine that has a cool boat thing inside of it. There were a host of sports themed pinball; NBA machines, one about a soccer dog, and more. We had a good time on a Star Wars machine which had a TV screen in it, that played Star Wars episode segments while giving challenges. It is a really fun time seeing all of these new machines and seeing that they are in such high quality. It’s not like the weird, slightly broken machine that you find in the back of an arcade by the seaside! Some of the machines had three ball rounds, while others had more to your go, which is something we have never had before!

We had a lovely time at The Pinball Office, and Chris was such a lovely host! I do hope that this new location continues to grow and becomes more popular, especially with the quality of the machines there! I am sure, as it’s just a hop skip and jump away, we will find ourselves there again – maybe we will take the kids along next time!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!

Thank you very much Jupiter and Dann for your lovely review. I’m glad that you had a good time. I hope to see you again soon and please bring along the kids with you as well. It would be great to expose more kids to this type of “old games”.

    Regards,
    Chris
