A Day Out at Pet’s Corner

Pet's Corner

It’s not a secret that Jupiter loves farm animals. She grew up in farm town, upstate NY, where a variety of animals were just always around. Coming to England and living in London, there just isn’t many farms to explore. That’s why she loves going to places like Pet’s Corner.

Pet's Corner

Kai, Amelia, Robin, Dann and Jupiter started the day by going out to a massive park – it was basically 4 or 5 jungle gyms all combined in a huge grassy area. There was something for everyone, especially as the kids really love slides. We quite enjoyed the giant spider web thing that you could climb up to the top of! Once we were done there, we went to Pet’s Corner.

Pet’s Corner is a free petting zoo type deal where animals are just about. It does have a park or jungle gym area, but we had already done that bit at the bigger park, so we grabbed some drinks and snacks, and began exploring.

Pet's Corner

Pet’s Corner has areas that animals move through, so many of the cages were empty and the animals were instead in larger fields full of fresh grass and sunlight. There were horses, chickens, llamas, a huge selection of birds, turtles, fish and much more to see. The kids had previously gone to Ashley’s Soft Play and Farm, which allowed visitors to feed the animals, but Pet’s Corner was just as fun when it came to looking at them all.

Pet's Corner

Ducks roomed free in middle area, as well as sneaked into other animal’s pens (especially goats, there were a lot of ducks in the goat’s pen.) A large parrot replied ‘bye bye’ if you waved and said goodbye to them, there was a giant fish within a tank that everyone was surprised by, and much more to see. I really enjoyed the slow walk around. Pet’s Corner does have enough for a full day’s trip out, including a little cafe for lunch, but with the huge park just around the corner, we opted to check that out first.

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
