A Day Out at Pember Library & Natural History Museum

I went off to visit family in Upstate New York and as a result started going out to all the little places hidden in the small, mountain-side towns nearby. One of the museums I remember going to as a very small child is the Pember Library and Natural History Museum – located right in the middle of the town my grandmother lives in. This museum is above a decent sized library, which is open, for free, to the public. The library itself is on a donation if you want basis, with a large collection of taxidermy animals, many of which you’d never see in this small town.

DoodleJamz – New Fidget Toy

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to fidget toys, we have so many in our household. From Push Poppers to neon worms, I swear we have collected at least one of every fidget toy on the market. When we heard of DoodleJamz, Amelia was instantly excited! DoodleJamz are a larger fidget – a sort of board that has either beads or slime in them, that can be moved around, drawn on, and otherwise played with. Amelia was stoked to try them out, with Robin following close behind in excitement. With two different types of boards so far, we tried them out!

A Day Out at Discover Children’s Story Centre

Back before Lockdown, Dann and I had found the Discover Children’s Story Centre, and it was the perfect age range for all of the kids to go too. But, we were unable to attend, and with lockdown, and then everything opening back up, it has been a while! Kai now isn’t the ideal age range, but he is always willing to go out and about with his sisters (and as we had an evening event planned for him) we decided to go ahead to the Discover Children’s Story Centre anyway, as the two girls really would enjoy it.

Ideally, this place is best for Robin’s age range, but Amelia has been big into trying out new parks (indoor and outdoor) and otherwise pretending with Robin, who has an active imagination. The Discover Children’s Story Centre is essentially a large place where children can play pretend. There is two indoor areas and an outdoor area under the entrance fee, with another indoor area that has limited time slots, for a small price per kid on top of the entrance fee. We ended up exploring the default entrance stuff, without the extra ticket, and had a lovely few hours out and about!

Paper FX Dream Weaver Machine turns scraps into crafts

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to crafts, Amelia is the queen. She loves trying out different craft kits and creating things that look beautiful and are fun to make. She was delighted when we opened up the Paper FX Dream Weaver Machine, determined to make something “really beautiful” with as little help as possible. This craft machine allows children to make all sorts of weaved projects, from bags to bunting, to vases or pencil holders. Amelia was well into making a very tall pencil holder and a coin purse, especially as she wanted to use all of the tools in the kit.

Making Yogurt with the Probio7 Life Yogurt Machine

[Ad- gifted product] We love making things from scratch in our household. It’s such a fun way to experiment and see what you are eating, as well as customise the food you are trying so that they are perfect for your taste. Making Yogurt with the Probio 7 Life machine also has the added benefit of ensuring your yogurt is full of gut friendly bacteria, which can really help our digestive system! We took a look at the machine to see how simple it would be to use, and if the yogurt was really tasty of course!
