Night Out at Halloween at Kew Gardens

Our family absolutely loves Light Walks at Christmastime and have done a bunch of events at Kew Gardens previously, so when I saw Halloween at Kew Gardens, I was pumped to see if the light walk feel could be translated to the Halloween concept. I didn’t want to spoil exactly what it was, so I just booked up tickets and parking, and then waited for the date to come around!

Making Flavored Yogurt with Easiyo

[Ad- gifted products] When it comes to making our own food, we have had some experience creating yogurt previously, however it relied on a type of milk that I found difficult to obtain and kind of expensive. Easiyo is a different way to create yogurt; it’s a sort of device that you can easily add yogurt mixes into it, make sure they are up to temperature, then wait a few hours and you suddenly have yoghurt.

Picking Pumpkins at Cammas Hall

We go to Cammas Hall every year and really enjoy their selection of pumpkins. They have an impressive set up of pumpkins and are always adding new features to their pumpkin patch. This year, highlights include a spooky and not-so-spooky walk, a bunch of Pumpkin picture areas, tons of different pumpkins, actors dressed up walking around, and a corn maze.

Midweek Meal Inspo; Spooky Burgers, Calzones, Spooky Meatballs and more

We have been having more spooky or Halloween inspired food, as it’s such a fun time of the year. Along with these more labor intensive food, I’ve been making some Italian food that I find quick and easy. This week’s meals are a mix of both, so some classics everyone will love and some beautiful decorated spooky food that really will impress anyone who sees them.

Spooky Meatballs

I was inspired to be cute and spooky, so I tried making some spooky meatballs, two ways. Amelia doesn’t like cheese, so I made her some homemade meatballs and then wrapped them with puff pastry to create a mummy. I also took a bunch of meatballs, cooked them, and then put them on a baking tray. I then added a slice of cheese to the top of them. I feel that it might have come out better with some of those burger cheese slices, instead of real cheddar, but it did melt over the meatballs and became a sort of ghost! We served this over pasta with tomato sauce.

A Moonless Night Film – Captivating Art

[Ad- gifted experience] Claire and I went to the Rich Mix to experience A Moonless Night, the first film from Snowapple Collective. Born from some poems written during COVID, a Moonless Night is more of a work of art showcased through the medium of film then a film created for the cinema. The creators of this piece worked from some poems that were written by one of them, about the concept of not being able to sleep. Being stuck in the madness of a moonless night, one that never ends.
