Creamy Cheesy Vegan Mac n Cheese with Violife

[Ad- gifted product] I’ve been lactose intolerant for as long as I can remember. But, I also love mac n cheese. I am one of those people that will eat mac n cheese and just feel terrible for the next few hours, just so I can enjoy the food I am craving from time to time. In trying to actually listen to my body, I made some mac n cheese using the Violife Epic Mature Cheddar Flavour block, which is a vegan cheese!

Trying out the Too Good to Go app

When it comes to getting a good deal on food, I am always down. I eat a lot of food, and am a somewhat picky eater in the way that I do not want to eat food I do not enjoy. At the same time, I always am looking to spend less on the food that I consume. When I heard about the Too Good to Go app, I wanted to try it out, not only for the big savings on food itself, but for the fact that it is a mystery box (which sounds excited) and this food would otherwise go to waste, when instead I can eat it!

The idea behind the Too Good to Go app is that local businesses and shops can take food that is about to go to waste – basically best by today date food – and sell it for a super cheap price so you can go home and eat it. You never know what you are going to get, but you do get to see the total price of the food normally and how much you are paying now. It creates a sort of interesting, mysterious way to get food to eat.

Yakimono Robata – Japanese Styled Tapas

We love exploring new places to eat, and when it comes to food, we are a huge fan of Japanese styled food, especially when there are plenty of different small plates to try out. A new restaurant opened up in Epping, called Yakimono Robata, which describes itself as Japanese Tapas. When we saw Yakimono Robata opening up, in a town that we often drive through, we had to stop in and see if it was any good!

We ended up getting the Premium Tasting Menu, which is 80£ for two. This contains a bunch of courses that come when they are ready, covering different fish, vegetables, and meats. We ended up swapping one dish out, which they were happy to do for us, and had a great time eating everything there. This tasting menu is split between us both, with tasting plates in front of us!

Easy BBQ Baked Chicken Recipe

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to easy dinners, I love something you can just throw into the oven. This BBQ Chicken recipe is one where you can just stick the entire thing in the oven, with minimum prep, and then wait. We ended up having ours with potatoes because I am on a potato kick, but it is very good with rice! You can also stick the entire thing on the grill instead of in the oven, if you’d like to Barbecue the BBQ chicken, more traditionally, or you can just do as we did and stick it in the oven!

Christmas Dinner for Two with QBag

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to Christmas time, there are normally huge, elaborate dinners that could feed a family of ten. It doesn’t make much sense to cook a bunch of different sides when there is only two of you. My family live in an entire different continent, which means that I am probably not having a huge Christmas dinner most years. And, sometimes, you just want a large Christmas-themed dinner mid December, to get yourself into the spirit. QBag is a perfect solution for this, as you can cook an entire Christmas dinner in one bag, with very little clean up. This recipe is one that you can shift and change depending on what you want in your Christmas Dinner.
