Regular readers will know that I only recently wrote about the fantastic experience we’ve had with some of the activity boxes for kids that are out there. There are all sorts available out there, including some focused on history, science or the outdoors, and they’ve really been a perfect fit as time-fillers while the kids have been being taught from home, and while we’ve been unable to get further afield due to Covid-19.
Willow & Wild is the latest one that we’ve tried, and while it’s not the only nature-centric subscription box that we’ve tried, it has a little twist to it that really makes it fit the spirit of the house: There are recipes in every box as well as activities. When it comes to being outside, in fresh air, full of plants and green life, it can really lift up your mood. Sadly, the outdoors isn’t always bright and full of life; grey days, rain clouds, and big winds can make the outdoors more of a chore to be in. If you are an outdoor lover and love nature, it’s a good idea to bring some of the outdoors into your home, making it so that no matter what the weather, you can enjoy the benefits of the outdoors! Today, I am going to share my top tips on bringing the outdoors in!
Fruit picking is something both Jupiter and I did as a kid – myself picking fruits near where I lived and Jupiter picking fruits both at orchards and in nearby woods. As summertime came, we wanted to take the family out berry picking both in the wild and at an orchard, so we went along to Cammas Hall! Cammas Hall has a lot to offer, from raspberry and blackberries to strawberries and sunflowers. We pre-booked our time slot, which does cost a deposit fee, but that fee goes towards the fruit we picked and it was easy to pick far more than the deposit price.
[Ad- gifted product] Granny Franny’s Big Red Bus is an adorable children’s bedtime story, about a fun day out for two young kids – in London! We love bedtime stories in our home, so finding new and fun books is something we tend to look out for. As we live so close to London, and travel into London often, I was pretty excited to read about an adventure on one of those big red London busses!
