Guessing the Words in Junior Tension

[Ad- gifted product] We play board games together, every other week, at our local Geek Retreat! This week, we tried out Junior Tension, which is a game all about topics and trying to name the things within that topic. It’s pretty easy for all ages to play and with the Junior version, there are a bunch of topics that are related to younger kids topics, like Thomas the Train Engine and Nursery Rhymes, which makes teams of different ages really important in this game.

French Food at Les Felibres

While in Paris for Pokemon Go Fest 2025, I wanted to arrange some sort of meal for all of our Harlow community who was coming. There were about 20 of us attending the event, with most of us free on the Friday evening, so that’s when I planned the meal for. Dann spent some time looking up areas, and though there were some fantastic Asian options, we wanted something everyone would find good, so he picked Les Felibres as they had fish n chips, burgers, and some duck!

We booked easily on line, with an email confirmation as our party was quite large, before being all ready for the day. Some of our party did arrive like half an hour early, but the restaurant let them right in and they got drinks to start along with some pretzels for the table, which was nice. Others, as it always is with a large group, came slightly late, so we had some staggered ordering and eating. Despite being like this, Les Felibres were kind and accommodating! There aren’t any English menus, but a few of the dishes are written in English next to it, and we all bumbled through it getting the gist of what we each wanted to order.

MoliCare – A Look at Period Panties

[Ad- gifted product] This might be one of those posts that feels a lot like TMI, but at the same time, I feel so much of women’s lives are stigmatized and shushed away, so here I am. Personally, I have been on injection birth control since long before COVID, with a breif break during lockdown, before returning to the medication. The depo vera injection actually stops your period completely, so it’s one less thing you need to think about and deal with, and it takes a while for your body to go back to developing the hormones you had before, which didn’t happen during lockdown for me.

Brunch at The Master Barista

Dann and I were looking to get a good, filling brunch within our town, so ended up at The Master Barista. We walk by this place often, seeing people eating outside. It’s attached to a jeweler shop, owned by the same people, which plays on the same designs as them. They have tons of seating in side and out, with an upstairs and downstairs, right by the bar counter. There are real Instagram vibes; interesting murals, flowers hanging from the ceiling, and neon lights! But, let’s get into the food.

Dinner at La Norma

When walking around the bay, we hadn’t really planned where we wanted to eat and instead just continued walking until something caught our eye. The restaurant we ended up at was La Norma, which has a small menu divided into fun categories called things like “I LOVE FISH” and “I LOVE MEAT”, to give an idea of what you are in the mood for. They have both upstairs outdoor seating, indoor seating, and seating by the sea! After being out in the wind, we opted for indoor seating, but do like the option to sit by the sea if the weather is fantastic.
