Di and Viv and Rose at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] Normally, Dann and I head over to the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch to check out their latest productions, but this time Amelia asked if she could come along! Amelia actually went to this theatre with her school, not so long ago, and has been really enjoying performances. As Di and Viv and Rose is a play about growing up together, about friendship, and had a slightly lower age rating at teenagers, Amelia was interested in coming along (and quite enjoyed it too.)

Exploring Passion and Politics: Sissinghurst and Greece at Sissinghurst Castle Garden

[Ad- gifted experience] When we went to Sissinghurst Castle Garden, we came to explore their new exhibition Passion and Politics: Sissinghurst and Greece, which is all about Vita’s husband, Harold Nicolson and his role in post-war Greece. This exhibition actually includes a bunch of unseen photographs and personal items from Harold himself, creating an intimate feeling exhibition, that builds on the small history of the gardens itself, in the outdoor below area of the same building.

Skating at Wheelie Roller Disco

We do enjoy trying out new things in our local area! When there are new, kid-friendly events, we see if our children want to go and give it a shot. When I saw that Wheelie Roller Disco was coming to our area, I was interested! As a child, I spent a lot of time at a roller rink local to me, skating for years, but stopped when I was 14 or so. We have gone ice skating several times, which is very similar to roller skating in a lot of ways. Robin also got a pair of skates for Christmas a few years back, that she uses in the kitchen often, so she was pumped. Kai wanted to go to the gym and had no interest, and Amelia was cautions, but wanted to try something new.

Exploring Sissinghurst Castle Garden

[Ad- gifted experience] When it comes to National Trust Sites in Essex and the surrounding areas, there are a lot to choose from! The National Trust is an organisation that takes care of gardens and estates that hold a lot of significance, preserving their history. You can pay a membership fee to support the National Trust and have access to tons of different sites all over England. Sissinghurst Castle Garden isn’t a site we had previously visited, and I wasn’t aware of the history around this location. When we arrived, we parked up our car and headed towards the Garden signs.

Pumpkin Picking at Hatter’s Farm

Exploring pumpkin patches is really the perfect Autumn activity! We go to a few pumpkin patches in Essex, to see how they are. This time, we went back to Hatter’s Farm, which is one of the ones we have visited yearly since they opened, to see how things changed! Hatter’s Farm has both day and night options when it comes to visiting their farm. Their night options make the entire patch full of glowing, neon paint, which does sound like an adventure. We went during the daytime, to pick some pumpkins, eat some food, and explore the corn maze.
