Christmas is nearly here, so it’s often a challenge to start shopping and finding the perfect gift for everyone in my family! With such an abundance of toys out there, I often struggle to figure out exactly what we should get for each age group. Wicked Uncle is always a goFai to when it comes to figuring out what to get. Their website is divided into different age ranges for their toys, as well as genders, so that you can get a better idea on what to get for a specific age. With so many different options, it’s really easy to find the ideal items for your child! We are going to look at toys that are ideal for 8 year old girls!
Fairytales and Legends Crossbody Bag
Fairytales and Legends Crossbody Bag is a little more than your average purse. This bag has cute dragons and unicorns on it, which you can color in to design your own bag! It’s such a cute idea, and any little girl would love it. The idea of having an activity that you can then wear around whenever you want, carrying your stuff in it, is not only a fun time when it comes to decorating but also useful!
Horrible Histories – The Board Game
Horrible Histories is probably a household name if you’ve got the Horrible History books or seen any of the Horrible History movies, but there is also a board game version to keep kids interacting and entertained. This board game takes you through history, from the Rotten Romans to the Vile Victorians and more, you’ll need to move around the board and answer questions or preform actions to stay at your tile. It’s a good way to remember knowledge, as playing something hands on can really help and with over 600 questions, there is a lot of replay value to this game.
Addict a Ball
Addict a Ball is a sort of all in one puzzle ball that kids can play with on their own. Watching a marble move around in the ball, you need to tilt it different ways to get it to the end. The Addict a Ball has two different mazes, and can be played with again and again, as you try to solve the mazes within. It’s a great little toy especially for young ones who like concentrating on specific things and the satisfaction of completion.
Quizzie
Quizzie is controlled by a number of buttons. Three are on the front – a Start button, a power off button, and a select button. On the top of the robot, there is a circle that represents Yes and a X that represents No. These top buttons are used in the mini-games, where as the face buttons are used to select and set up games, as well as turn off the robot. The robot’s eyes and face are a displace screen, which does a bunch of different faces and shows all the icons that represent a bunch of different games!
This or That Board Game
This or That board game is a quick fire, question answering game where you have a question and two choices. You then need to reply with the choice you think is correct quickly, and gain a card if you are correct. It’s silly, you might learn something but you might not. It’s just fun, family friendly as an activity and one you can play with the whole family! We really like board games in our house, and this one is good for including younger ones into the mix.
LED Light Up Gloves
When it comes to getting light up gloves, we had never had them before. The night is coming much sooner than the summertime, and there are so many different outdoor events, so when we got our pair of LED light up gloves, we were very excited. These gloves are a bit tricky to put on, compared to your normal pair of gloves, as each of the fingers of the glove itself have a LED strip of light in them. This light stripe can make it so that your child doesn’t want to push their fingers through the hole, as there is some resistance, but after some use, they get pretty use to this feeling and understand the basic.
I have used Wicked Uncle for gifts before, they really do have some great ideas and I like how it is categorised so you can see what sort of things would suit different ages.
