Fun in the Sun at Potter Street Fete 2026

This was our second year helping out with the Potter Street Fete, which this year was dedicated to Micky T, who was from Potter Street and had passed in the last year. This fete is an extremely local event, to Harlow, where members of the local community come together to hang out, enjoy the sunshine, and just be together. It’s lovely, full of community spirit, and put on by a bunch of locals who like seeing everyone enjoying the sun.

This year, it was extremely sunny! Almost as if it was to make up for last year’s nearly rain. Dann and I both are on the committee, with Dann being the Deputy this year, which has meant that we helped organise the fete and had a fun time being a part of the community around it. Our day started early with setup, which was a lot of work. Kai came along and helped out, as a strong teenager, and really made all the difference. Once the Potter Street Fete was in full swing, there was plenty to do!

In the middle of the field, we had live music playing during most of the day, then in the afternoon we had some games for children to play; egg races, three-legged-legs, and more. The live music and dancing itself were all local groups, which really highlights the community. Around the edge of the Potter Street Fete, we had tons and tons of stalls.

From places selling fidgets or candy or gardening furniture to food trucks like Caine’s Pizza, waffle carts and spud trucks. Dann and I had pizza along with some of the refreshments from the refreshments stall, though it was a very warm day so we did spend a lot of time drinking water and trying to hide in some of the shade. We also had a large number of games at this year’s Potter Street Fete, including a giant target that balls got kicked at, a sponge throwing game, splat the rat and more. It’s just such a fun little fete.

So many people spent the day hanging out, chatting, and enjoying each other – and it was such a fun event to put on. We both look forward to next year’s fete as well!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
