A Day Out at Puttshack Brunch Club

Puttshack brunch club

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I have been to many, many mini-golf places in our time. However, none of them really felt like the perfect place for a date. Puttshack Brunch Club, however, provides a lovely brunch with bottomless cocktails, along with a round of super high tech golf, which really does feel like the an amazing place to have a date with your loved one.

Puttshack Brunch Club Food Menu

We went for our brunch before we played our round of mini-golf, so we will start by talking about the food. The Puttshack Brunch Club seats you outside, on the terrace, which has beautiful. There is a big theme of red and white, which ties in with their signature cocktail called Pimm’s Sundowner, containing Pimm’s. This drink is fruity and bright, with lots of chopped up fruit and cucumber in the pitcher; perfect for a sunny, summer day. Despite being in Lakeside, the terrace didn’t actually allow you to look over the area, as there was a glass wall in the way, blocking the view. This is a really interesting choice, as I do feel having a bit of a view would be lovely.

The brunch menu does have a few additional cocktails you can purchase, as well as a sweet food and a savoury food category. You are able to pick one in each category! The options for savoury re Eggs Royal, Chicken & Waffles and The Vegan Monty. I went with the Chicken and Waffles as that’s one of my favorites. The waffle was huge, the chicken crispy and well cooked. It came with a piece of bacon which felt candied and was a bit tough, as well as a dish of syrup. This syrup was really interesting, it had onions cooked into it. This may sound strange, but it actually made the syrup more savoury, which meant that my breakfast wasn’t sickly sweet as it sometimes can be with super sweet syrups. It was the perfect amount of sweet and savoury, and really enjoyable! Dann went with the Vegan Monty, which had a spicy potato hash, vegan sausage, grilled mushroom, vine tomatoes, curried tofu and ciabatta. Dann was really impressed with the sausage and mayo-like sauce that came on top of it; the flavour was really good and he said it was probably the best vegan sausage he’s had. The potato hash and curried tofu were stand out too, making for a really good meal option!

For the sweet menu, in Lakeside, there were only two options on our menu; Mexican Churros and Warm Double Chocolate Brownie. On the Puttshack Brunch Club website, there is cheese cake listed too, however it wasn’t on our menu. We both went with the brownie option, which was warm, with vanilla ice cream and lots of caramel and chocolate syrup. It’s a decadent dessert with a lot of chocolate flavour coming through. At the end of the brunch, I felt very, very content and full of food.

Puttshack Golf Course

After our Puttshack Brunch Club brunch, we were then randomly given one of the golf courses to take on! There are four different nine hole courses in Lakeside, and we ended up on Sapphire. If you’ve never been to Puttshack, the courses are really technology based, in a super interesting way. Each hole has a massive TV above it, which will tell you when you can put down your ball, and then track each hit you take and give you a score. Unlike traditional golf, you want the highest score to win!

In the holes, there are actually turbo boosts, questions to answer, and mini-games that can allow you to get more points, if you are a good shot. This was so cool to see, and I honestly have no idea how it works. Many of the holes had so many light up components and were just a joy to see. Some of the stand out holes were the True or False question hole, which had you picking true or false before shooting, and either earning more points or losing points depending on the answer to the question. Each of us got a different question, and the questions after us were also different. Another hole had a Wheel of Fortune, where your first hit doesn’t actually count and only stops the wheel. There are lots of rewards on this wheel, more points, a free game, free food, free drink. If you then get a hole in one, you win the prize you spun! One of the last holes we tried had a ring of lights you needed to putt through, then a bunch of hazard areas that you needed to avoid or else you’d lose points.

Seeing your score go up and watching all of the cool features of this course is really awesome. It feels like an adult course, and a well done one at that. As you are going around, there are also menus that you can order from, and your screen has a reference so that whatever you order can be delivered to wherever you currently are, which is a great touch. Puttshack Brunch Club just feels really well thought out, just like their golf course!

I’ve not been there before but it sounds great. It seems like you guys had a really lovely day out. The indoor golf is such a different activity option.

This sounds like the type of date my husband and I would enjoy, too. We also just learned yesterday our younger son, age 7, loves putt putt golf so we are going to take him somewhere when we are home from vacation. He’s also a techy person so would really enjoy Puttshack!
