Spring Cupcake Class with Sweet Designs by Jennie

I know it’s past Easter, but I couldn’t help booking up another Spring cupcake course with Sweet Designs by Jennie. Our Spring wreath class from last month was ten cupcakes, so this time doing six felt very quick. These designs were mostly different from the wreaths we’ve previously done, which is one thing I very much enjoy about these courses. Even if they have a similar theme, they do feel completely unique and different. Amelia and I are very into these cupcake classes, as it’s the perfect mother-daughter activity to bond. The classes themselves contain up to six people, so it feels super intimate and good. As we have been to so many of them, we knew quite a few of the regulars and it’s so much fun catching up.

Harlow Chinese School – Bao Buns

We often go to the Harlow Chinese School for their cooking classes, but the dates haven’t previously lined up so that we could take our whole family. This time, however, everyone was free and excited to be attending to make bao buns – which is actually a favorite in our household! This class was all about Bao Buns, but in normal fashion, there were also some surprises and side dishes that were made to go with it.

Solving Alice in Puzzleland at Escape Hunt Lakeside

When trying to deice something to do over the weekend, we ended up finding that there were some escape rooms at Lakeside! Escape Hunt actually is within Boom Battle Bar, which was interesting and slightly hard to find, but we were excited to take on Alice in Puzzleland. It had been a while since we all have done an Escape Room, and we were pumped.

Historical St Osyth Priory – Holidays and Wedding Venue

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I were invited to the grand opening of St Osyth Priory, which has been renovated, bringing back it’ historic charm. It’s a stunning venue, with a bunch of different aspects to it. During the grand opening, we were able to hear about the renovations, hear from the historian about what has happened in the area, and generally tour the grounds checking out what it currently is and what the future would be.

Best Easter Trails in Essex

[Updated on April 10th, 2025 to include more Easter Trails] We tend to go to a lot of seasonal events each year, and as we have explored, we’ve done a ton of different Easter Trails! As spring is full of nice flowers and better weather, taking advantage of the local Easter Trails in Essex and the surrounding areas can be a great way to get out and about with you and your family. Here are the best Easter Trails we’ve been too.

Meet the Easter Bunnies at Cammas Hall

Cammas Hall has an Easter Trail this year, which takes you around the back of their large farm! The Easter Trail does also allow you to pick your own tulip stems, at 50p per steam, before entering a very well decorated area of the forest, filled with clues and riddles, that goes directly through the bluebell forest. It’s very well decorated and includes a wishing wall, where a bunny tells you to make your own Easter Wish. When you get to the end, you are greeted by two bunnies, given some chocolates, and can play on a number of outdoor activities like bowling and slingshots. Inside Cammas Hall, they also have themed ice cream, pizzas and bbq items.

You can read our full review or check out Cammas Hall on their website.
