A Day Out at Chessington World of Adventure

Chessington World of Adventure

During the summer holiday, we wanted to make the most of it, so our family and my friend’s family went together to Chessington World of Adventure – a theme park and zoo that’s quite fun for the whole family and has so much to see, it would take several visits to view it all. This place is massive and will easily fill your entire day, especially if you like a few of the rides specifically!

The first thing we did at Chessington World of Adventure was ride some rides! There was an area for younger children, where there were simple rides like boats, flying elephants, and little moving cars. The real highlight in rides were the Scorpion Roller Coaster which even under 1 meter children could ride, allowing them to experience a roller coaster that went fast. I swear, I went on this at least 5 times and I know Jupiter ended up on it many more times. The roller coaster had a fire element, where it would shoot off fire from time to time, which was really cool. There was a Gruffalo ride too, where we all piled into a little boat, which moved through a world that told the story of the Gruffalo, complete with water that sprayed everyone. Another super fun one gave everyone guns and they could shoot all sort of enemies inside of an ancient cave, which the kid’s didn’t do too well at, but was fun non-the-less.

Along with rides, Chessington World of Adventure also has many, many animals! We got the chance to see tigers, guerrillas, penguins, sea lions and much more. As fun as the rides were, the kids really enjoyed checking out these animals too and watching them play and interact. Robin and Jupiter went off to see smaller petting zoos inside the area as well, since the older children wanted to go on some more intense rides that had more of a height requirement!

There was also a massive arcade inside Chessington World of Adventure, where the kids were able to play mobile games in real life – Kai was a big fan of an Angry Birds styled game, where as Amelia and Robin had fun playing shuffleboard and the such. We spent a lot of time earning up tickets to trade in for little prizes and then walking around to check out all of the different displays and such that were dotted around.

Chessington World of Adventures was so big that we only scratched the surface, but we were all quite tired by the end. We packed lunch but there were plenty of different food places that we could have gotten food at, if we wanted too!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
