A Day Out at Dinosaur Safari Adventure Golf

I am pretty sure we have gone to every dinosaur golf park now, within the UK! Mini-golf is one of those things that everyone seems to enjoy. You can decide if your family wants to take things seriously or if you want to give out re-dos and ditch the score sheet. Now that Robin is a bit older, we actually do keep score, but give everyone generous scoring. As the Dinosaur Safari Adventure golf had opened back up, we decided to give this place a go!

5 ways to update your home for elderly family members

Nobody likes to think about getting older, however, it’s something that happens to everyone. Whether you are getting older yourself or are looking to update a home for an elderly family member, there are lots of ways to make your home a more comfortable place. As family members get older, there are lots of different needs that they will have, from moving around the house easily to using different places within the house. It’s easy to overlook these changes, but they can really make a house a more comfortable place and make your family members feel better when moving around. Nobody wants to be dependent on others, and making these changes can really give someone independence.

Upgrade your Bathtub or Shower

When it comes to using baths or showers to get clean, it can be more challenging for elderly people to navigate. You should consider upgrading a tub to a walk-in tub, so that the tub can be entered easily by those who may struggle to get in and out. There are lots of options for this, from converting your tub to finding a bathtub accessibility kit that can add a step – all it takes is a bit of research to figure out what the best option is for your family. You can even add grab bars inside your shower so that your family member can more easily grab and lift themselves up from a laying down position. If you have a walk-in shower, it might be worth considering purchasing a shower bench. This will allow elderly members of your family to sit in the shower, giving them more time to relax, and can reduce slipping risks.

Watermelon Splash and Key Lime Pie Tea from Bird & Blend Tea Co | Review

When we were out in Tower Bridge, we came across the Bird & Tea Co. They had a bunch of different, unique flavors that are every-changing as their menu grows and changes. We picked two flavors of their loose leaf tea: Key Like Pie and Watermelon Splash. It’s been a while since we have been out in Tower Bridge, but I wanted to share our experiences with these unique teas! Our household isn’t a hugely into traditional tea, but we love having little tea parties with small snacks and various fruity teas!

The Bear Can Read Koala Box for April | Review

We always try to subscribe to new month boxes, switching them out when things get a bit boring with one box or when interests change. Previously, we have done nature boxes for Robin, but with her growing interest in reading (and the constant demand for new books in her reading level) we decided to take a look into what reading-related boxes where out there. After checking over lots of them, we settled with The Bear Can Read, in the Koala section for her age.

Following England’s curriculum, each month this box delivers a bunch of different reading material – three books, a few flashcards, six worksheets on three different sounds, a sticker reading chart, and some little treats. The main perk from this box, for our house, is the books that come with it. These books focus around the sounds and letter of the month, which can really help with confidence, as they are learning these sounds and letters right before reading them.

Lightly Salted Pulsitos

The lightly salted pulsitos are the most ‘default’ of the flavors. The creators, Laura and Sean actually ate similar snacks in Barcelona, where they came up with the idea to create this snack company. These are broad beans, which are slated and baked off to create a crispy and crunchy texture. Traditionally, they are often served lightly salted, so this made for a good introduction into broad bean snacks – as we have previously tried a lot of fava bean based snacks – as they taste quite crunchy and natural.
