Project 365 – June 2026

June has felt like summer, mixed with an absolute ton of travel. There just was so much going on and the days seemed to fly by. I do feel 2026 has been so much travel for me! We celebrated Father’s day, Kai finished school, and we had a lot of fun every single day. I wrote about each day as a part of Project 365, alongside a bunch of other bloggers, some of which post daily, weekly or even monthly like me. You can check them out at the bottom of this post.

June 1st – Odd Monday

Monday at the start of the month, right at the start of back to school, just hits differently! Amelia had school today, Robin had no school, and Kai had a half day due to testing but was going in right after lunchtime. It’s wild! We got Amelia up, Robin was already awake, and got ready for the day. After Kai had an early lunch and headed to school, Dann, Robin and I went to Wagamamas for lunch. Robin then did some shopping at Waterstones and I did some errands in town, before we headed home. When Kai and Amelia got home, Kai headed to the gym and the rest of us went to Geek Retreat to play Flora Fungi which was fun. We then headed home, I made some Katsu Curry, and we headed out for Dynamax Monday. One of Robin’s friends came back with us after Pokemon, they watched movies, and we had DnD until bedtime.

June 2nd – Hair Appointment

I had a lot of work to get on with today, so I got up early, packed some lunches, did a bunch of work, then went along to drop offs this morning. I had a hair appointment at the salon by Robin’s school, so I arrived with her being dropped off at school and did a big litter pick of her school grounds before heading in. My hair appointment was long, as I was having a lot done. Sophie, my stylist, was fantastic – she got me snacks and a coffee, which was so kind. Then, Dann stopped by with more snacks and drinks before I was done. It was such a fun time! I then headed home, did some work, and then in the evening Dann, Kai and I went out to the movies to see The Backrooms, which Kai really wanted to see. We went today as there was an earlier viewing and didn’t want Kai out to late during his testing times. We saw a rainbow on the way home, had dinner, and went to sleep.

June 3rd – Lots of Work

Today I woke up, packed some lunches, and Kai went off to school early but had a partial day. I had a LOT of work on, so stuck to that. Dann made me lunch, hot pot, which was very nice of him! In the evening, we had dinner with Kai before Dann and I headed out to Pokemon Go for Raid Hour. I got both a shiny and a hundo! We then went to the movies – just the two of us – to see Obsession. This movie was really quite creepy and scary! I then went home and went to bed.

June 4th – SXSW Speaker

I had been invited to moderate a panel on the Future of Mobile Gaming, with gaming legends from Candy Crush Saga and Subway Surfers, at SXSW London. So, after packing some lunches, I headed off there. Robin was sick from school today though was feeling fine, so she saw me off, before getting back to her new favorite game Tomodatchi Life. Dann spent the day with her! I hosted my panel, which went well, then made it home in time to pick her up from school as she ended up going in after lunch. We then headed straight home, where Amelia and Kai joined us. Kai went to the gym and Amelia started playing Tomodatchi Life too. This is basically all that goes on in the evening! We decided to have a break from screens after dinner and play some of The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game as a family before bedtime.

June 5th – Cupcake Class

Fridays are always busy! I packed some lunches, saw some children off to school, then cracked on with working today. At lunchtime, Dann and I went out shopping before he made lunch. It was a pretty normal day. I picked up Robin from school and we headed home, so that she could change and get ready for Preform. I started making a roast chicken dinner and watched Amelia play Tomodatchi Life. When Robin and Dann got back, we all had dinner, before Amelia and I headed out to our cupcake class. This was such a fun one as it had a little cake along with the cupcakes! Then, there was more Tomodatchi Life, before bedtime.

June 6th – Out to Eat

Today was another day that started with Tomodatchi Life. In Robin’s world, Dann and I got married and her, Kai and Amelia moved into our house. It’s a pretty silly game! I spent a lot of today catching up on work as I am traveling next week again, and also making sure a lot of writing was done as I was a bit behind with some pieces I wanted to get written out. My dad called in the morning, which was nice, as he had picked up some items from the second Target x Pokemon drop. In the late afternoon, Dann, Kai and I went out to a Brazilian steak house, called Nelore Steak House Loughton, which was SUCH a good idea. We had our fill of delicious meat, Kai thought it was so cool that they were on swords, then we headed home before Dann’s friend, myself and Dann went to go see The Digital Circus at the cinema. I have not seen the series, so I was a bit lost, but it seemed like a neat movie anyway.

June 7th – Into London

Today I woke up and started work quite early, as I have a lot to do before going away next week. There were just tasks that needed to be done, despite it being a Sunday. My morning was primarily doing work! Then, in the afternoon, I went into London to meet up with my friend Gary. When I got to London, we started off our afternoon by walking around and taking pictures. He’s got this really nice digital camera with a zoom (a bird lens!) and I had not brought my bird lens (mistake). He did let me borrow his to take some photos, which was fun. We went out for late lunch at Gordan Ramsey’s Bread Street, where we had idiot sandwiches, then hung out some more until getting dessert and cocktails to close our evening.

June 8th – Hot Pot

I was still in London today, so I woke up and got on with some of my Monday tasks. I had a lot of actual meetings today, which was a lot. There are just so many things going on work-wise right now, with so many different people wanting time and meetings. I ended up grabbing pastries with Gary for breakfast and then hung around in London until lunch. We went to Maopao London, which is my favorite pre-made hotpot place in London ever. I am still thinking about that food! I got a huge hot pot, so did Gary, and we had a lovely lunch. I then headed home and made dinner for the DnD crowd before hanging out with Dann in the evening.

June 9th – Tabletop Friends

Today I was actually stressed about work at the start of the day. I made my lists, I hoped for the best, and I cracked on. It does feel like I am leaving so soon, and I do not have enough ready to cover work. I spent a lot of the day doing all of my tasks, before heading off to the Potter Street Fete meeting for the evening. This was such a good meeting, as it goes over everything that did well at the Potter Street Fete that has happened previously, so that we know what to do for next year. It’s also just such an interesting time. Dann and I headed home, where our friends came over for tabletop. Matt made gnocchi and garlic bread, which was fantastic, and I made chocolate cream pie. We then played Extreme Outliars, which is a very uhhh interesting game, before heading to bed just after midnight.

June 10th – Lots of Work

Today was a big work day! I had a lot of work to get done before I headed to a big week of travel. I had a lot of stuff to check off my list. I did go to raid hour in the evening before heading to the movies! We had dinner with our friend at Mui and Koko before the movie, which was lovely. Dann and I saw Scary Movie which wasn’t great at all, then I went to bed and went right to sleep.

June 11th – Final Prep

I had finished up a lot of work today, got my bags packed, and hung out at home. It was a very rainy day, full of hanging out in the dry spaces! I then went to sleep early as tomorrow I was going to be traveling early in the morning and then spending a lot of time in that sort of travel bubble for the next week.

June 12th – To Copenhagen

Travel to Copenhagen for Go Fest 2026 went well. It was a little time at an airport, a little time on a plane, and then I checked into my AirBnb, which was very charming and very nearby the actual park the fest was in. I checked into the press tent and spend the afternoon at the park catching Pokemon and doing raids. I made a lot of content from this! In the evening, they had a press dinner which was SO delicious, where I chatted to other press people before heading back to my accommodation and went to sleep for day 2.

June 13th – Back to Go Fest

Today was my full day at Pokemon Go Fest 2026 – where I spent a lot of time traveling around the area to do the stamp rally before heading to the park. I got all the shiny Pokemon I wanted to, along with attended some of the side events like building LEGO and seeing Pikachu. It was a lovely day! I then grabbed some dinner and did some of the other exploration tasks, before heading to bed quite exhausted.

June 14th – Go Fest Final Day

Today was a busy day! I packed up all my stuff and headed to the park, where I played a bunch of the day and got an interview in from the event. It was a fun day, and I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone! It did rain a bit, but I got a lot of Pokemon before heading to the airport. I did some laptop work at the airport, before landing late in Spain. I checked into my accommodation then headed to a hot tub roof-top party, which was such a great experience and had fantastic food!

June 15th – Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona

The first day of Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona was a fun one! I had a Big Indie Pitch to run in the afternoon, so I spent the morning playing games and then eating some lunch. I then ran the pitch, which went well, before packing up for the day and heading to an after party. From there, I took myself to a fantastic, local Asian restaurant and had a lovely dinner, then returned to my accommodation to rest.

June 16th – Pocket Gamer Connects Day 2

Today was a much busier day for me at Pocket Gamer Connects. I had my first Big Indie Pitch right in the morning, then had lunch and meetings. After that, I prepped for my on-stage panel on Are Indies Saving The Games Industry? Which is a very big topic. I then got to host the awards for the Very Big Indie Pitch before heading upstairs and prepping for a virtual talk at a University. This went very well and I made my way to our company dinner, which was such a laugh, before heading home and getting some sleep.

June 17th – Another Travel Day

I woke up today and explained to my AirBnB host that I would be leaving before midday, and got right to work before my travel day. She brought me some ice cream cake, which was super sweet, and we talked a bit before I made my way to the airport. I had a flight to Canada which was both a long amount of time, but also going forward in time, so despite being in an airport for four hours and on a plane for over 10 hours, I still landed in Canada on June 17th and made my way to the hotel. The flight was fine, the food was good, but I primarily tried to rest as I knew I would be busy! When I landed and got checked into my hotel, I then got ready for bed and went to sleep after a bit of working.

June 18th – Another Event: NAGIS

Today was my first day at NAGIS in Canada. I woke up far too early (due to time zones) and did some work at my hotel. I am really glad to be at a hotel after a few Airbnb. There is just something so clean and lovely about a hotel! I headed to NAGIS (which is a part of Game Con Canada) after breakfast with a co-worker, and then started playing games. Today was sort of a free day, so I went through as many different games as I could as I knew that the event would get more busy as the days went on. It was fun and I made some friends that invited me to the after party. I went back to my hotel room, had a nap, then headed there for some drinks and food. I ended up having a lot of fun then walked around the Neon Sign Museum in Edmonton with a new friend of mine, into the evening.

June 19th – Busy Event Day

This was my big day in Canada. I had breakfast at the same breakfast place as yesterday, then headed to the event to set up my fringe room. Midday, I did go to the Muttart Conservatory to have a look at all of the flowers that were there, which was really fantastic, but much smaller than I expected. Then I headed back to the venue and ran the Big Indie Pitch. IT was a long session, and afterwards I got to present on the stage. I did some more running around and playing games before being invited out to dinner at a vegan place where I had delicious pizza. I then walked around Canada with some friends until the evening hit and I needed to go home to sleep.

June 20th – Traveling Home

I woke up in Canada, packed my bags, and did some morning work before heading to the airport. There was a lot of travel and I was going into a different time zone, so I ended up traveling a lot and landing at 6 am Sunday UK time – just in time for Father’s Day. My flights were just long and boring, with bits of snacks here and there.

June 21st – Father’s Day

Dann picked me up from the airport, I unpacked and showered, then started my day! Robin helped make nachos for lunch, we spent some time playing video games and hanging out. In the afternoon, we headed to Horton’s Steam Fair, which was just such a fun and unique way to spend the day. Then, we went to Bang Bang for dinner, eating far too much food, before going home. Robin and Kai won stuff in the claw machine and we all had such a good time. When I got home, I went right to bed as I was exhausted!

June 22nd – Back to Work

Today was a day back to work, and I had a lot of work to do! I started the day off by packing Robin’s lunch, which was fun to get back to. There were a lot of event articles to write from my travels, meetings to attend, and generally getting use to the actual time zone change. I do feel the massive heatwave England is currently in made work extremely slow, but that could also be because of the time zone change. I did get my copy of Debug, which has my own writing in it!

June 23 – Working and Surviving Heat

Dann and I had decided that we weren’t going to host for this week, as we both had a lot of catching up to do and a lot of work that needed to be done. I think this was a very good decision! I spent a lot of time working in the day, then Dann and I went out for a walk in the evening where we took pictures. I am so glad to be back home and so happy to be surrounded by my family – it’s just been great to be back!

June 24th – Movie with Friends

Today I woke up, did a lot of work, and then in the evening went out to play Pokemon Go. It was a lot of fun! Amelia and Robin’s friends came along, and they all got milkshakes which felt perfect for the warm day. We also cleaned out and re-filled the pool ready for the heat! In the evening, we went to see Toy Story 5 with a bunch of our friends, even though Dann had seen it before. It was a lovely movie and the crew that went along were fantastic. We also got to try a new Cineworld drink.

June 25th – Boring Work Day

Today was just a boring work day, but I feel really on top of my work, which is good! I had a lot to do and I was getting bored of being in the house. I am excited to start cooking some fun meals too, so started meal planning for the next week and making treats for Robin and Amelia. It was an easy day! We made sure everything was all set up for a pool party tomorrow, as the weekend is nearly here, and it is still extremely warm.

June 26th – Pool in USE

I woke up, made packed lunches for Robin, and then went straight into work. I had a lot to do and little time before the school run. Amelia had a half day, due to the heat, so was home and changed, then her friend came over who also was out early. Dann and them went to pick up Robin’s friend, while I went to get Robin. We also grabbed ice cream at Robin’s school before heading home. Robin normally has Preform, but due to the heat, it was cancelled so everyone got right into the pool! We made pizza bread for dinner, hung out until the evening, and then when everyone left I went right to bed.

June 27th – Pokemon Raid Day

Today I slept in! I think it was the heat. I had some work to do in the morning, before playing a bunch of video games with Robin, Amelia and Kai. In the afternoon, Amelia, Robin, Dann and I headed into town to play Pokemon Go where Amelia and Robin picked up three of their friends to bring over to go swimming, after milkshakes of course. They all had a fantastic time, stayed for dinner, and then went home before bed. I did run some work-related evening events, which was a lot in the heat. It was a busy day but a very good day!

June 28th – Cupcakes and Friends

I woke up and made breakfast, before hanging out and doing a bunch of writing. It was a very good writing day! Then Amelia’s friend came over and we went to our cupcake class. We had gifted Amelia’s friend vouchers for the class a while back, and she found that these designs would be perfect. The class was fantastic, as always, and then we headed home and I made dinner. Amelia’s friend, Amelia and Robin all went swimming, ate dinner, and then everyone got ready for bed.

June 29th – Back to School

Today was a long day! I woke up, made packed lunches, got bags sorted, and then got on our way. I had a lot of meetings, like almost back to back, until I went to pick Robin up from school. I did a litter pick in the area, as it was quite messy, before we all headed to Geek Retreat to play some board games and have some milkshakes. We then headed home, I prepped dinner, and we headed out to Max Monday. We grabbed Amelia and Robin’s friends and then headed home for more swimming and girls’ night. Robin and her friend played a lot outside where as Amelia and her friend watched movies and hung out. I made dinner for everyone at DnD, and then cleaned up before everyone went home or to bed.

June 30th – Walking Around and Working

I woke up today, packed some school lunches, went over backpacks and everyone headed off to school (a part from Kai, who is off, of course), before I went to work. Today was a lighter work day and it’s much cooler out. In the afternoon, Dann and I went for a walk with our long-lenses for our cameras, which was a lot of fun. In the evening, Dann and I watched some movies and hung out, planning out our next work trips. It was a boring, normal end to the month.
